Hello all!
Fancy finding you here! I think I need to be transparent with you all. I've been praying a lot about the direction of my career and where God wants this part of my life to go. With the pressure to provide for myself, it's easy to get caught up in my own anxieties and lose tract of God in the process. This apostolate was never meant to be about me, but about sharing the incredible grace He has shown me and making a gift of myself in how I serve His church. With three college degrees deep, this was never a career I chose for kicks and giggles. I chose it because in the deepest recesses of my heart is the Holy Spirit reminding me of who I am and the gifts He's given me. Gifts to share with others. It's always been about Jesus, His love, His Heart, and as long as my heart beats in unison with His, I am at peace.
With the revamping of my website and renewed commitment to sharing my faith, there are going to be some changes on this website, starting with a scripture series coupled with reflections based on the Sunday Gospel and mental health. Sacred Scripture is so important to our faith and believe is or not it can actually be really beneficial to our mental health.
I will also be blogging more in general, though I'm not sure what the frequency will be (outside of a series). My motivation is found in cultivating conversations about mental health in the Catholic community. There is a huge need for understanding our psychological health that is unfortunately blaringly present in our communities (I could and probably will write a completely separate blog about this topic).
But yes, for now this is me showing up in my humanity, hopefully inspiring you to do the same. I am at this point in my career where I cannot in good conscience withhold the beautiful grace that Jesus has given me to share with others. He has called me to be a complete and total gift. Perhaps this blog will bear fruits, perhaps it won't; whatever it may be I will rest easy in the fact that I did not withhold His light in me from the world. :)
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
Pax et bonum!
